Russell Jennings VIEW PROFILE

Russell Leroy Jennings, 58, of Tonganoxie, Kansas, passed away on February 4, 2015, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Russ was born on March 31, 1956, in Shenandoah, Iowa to Roland and Mildred Jennings. The family moved to Leavenworth, Kansas in 1959 where he attended school, graduating from Leavenworth High School in 1974. He then attended the University of Kansas.

He worked for the Fort Leavenworth Golf Course, Palace Lanes, and Skyway Lanes prior to becoming disabled. He was an accomplished bowler, consistently averaging over 200 with three 300 games and an 800 series. He loved watching NASCAR races, KU basketball games and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Survivors include his children; Patricia and Kenneth Jennings, mother Mildred Jennings, sister Phyllis Fleming (Michael), five grandchildren, and close friends Sara Charity and Charlie Klotz. He was preceded in death by his daughter Elizabeth and his father.

Visitation will be Friday, February 6, 2015, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at Davis Funeral Chapel, with services following at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be at Mount Muncie Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association or First Baptist Church, 13th and Osage, Leavenworth, Kansas. Arrangements entrusted to Davis Funeral Chapel.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Russell's family and friend's.

God bless each and everyone of you in this time of sorrow.

I didn't know Russell all that well. But I do remember that

he was a nice guy. He would always say hi everytime I

seen him. Had a nice smile. We will miss you Russell!

It's so sad that Russell Jennings has passed. I was with him when I went to my first concert. I visited him a few times at his parents' home back in high school days. We were in accounting class together, where I was my usual obnoxious self. He was awesome at bowling. We both frequented Skyway Lanes, the bowling alley that used to sit next to Smacks on S. 4th Street, near Lansing. Russell was one of the good ones.
