Greg Wilson

Greg Wilson, 65, of Lawrence, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020. He was born March 22, 1955, in Leavenworth, Kansas.

Greg is survived by longtime partner Jean Baragary (formerly of Leavenworth) and one son, Brad Wilson, both of the home; two sisters, Eugenia L. Davis, Detroit, Michigan and Barbara Higgins-Murrell (James), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, two brothers; George Wilson (Regina), Wichita, Kansas and Donald Wilson, Wichita, Kansas, and six nieces and five nephews.

Greg was preceded in death by his father, George Wilson; his mother Louise E. Donaldson; and sister Mary Kay Wilson, all of Leavenworth; and brother James E Wilson of Lawrence.

Greg attended public schools in Leavenworth and was employed in Leavenworth by Kaaz Construction, Waymire's IGA, and Westar (formerly KP&L). He retired from Westar's Lawrence Power Plant.

Greg loved family and was a wonderful friend to many people. He will always be remembered for his kind soul and fun loving smile. Greg loved to ride motorcycles, was an avid University of Kansas sports fan (Rock Chalk!), was a cooking enthusiast, enjoyed playing penny slots at the casino and loved to learn new things.

Greg's internment at Mount Muncie Cemetery, Lansing, KS will be at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Ken Nitchals (in care of Davis Funeral Home, 531 Shawnee Street, Leavenworth, Kansas 66048) to assist with final expenses.
